Buy Your Silence Lets You Turn Those Underlings Into Something Useful In MtG

We’re back with another MtG Card Preview, this time showing off Buy Your Silence from the Streets of New Capenna expansion, courtesy of our friends at Wizards of the Coast.

Buy Your Silence is a pure white card, meaning it’ll be great in any MtG deck that uses white land. It takes advantage of the high board-count white decks in New Capenna run by fueling your forces at the cost of one of your permanents.

The effect for Buy Your Silence reads as follows:

Exile target nonland permanent. Its controller creates a treasure token.

Considering treasure tokens can be tapped and sacrificed as any mana, this card is pretty good in a pinch if you need to get either that one different colored mana for your last big push.

A reminder that Tokens do count as permanents, so you can really live that mob boss life and start trashing your underlings for more fuel.

Alternatively, if you’re already leading massively and don’t mind your opponent benefiting from the extra mana, you can even use it as a means to remove something that might be causing you grief.

Admittedly this card’s going to be a little difficult to get out when you might need it most- at a converted cost of 5 mana, you won’t be able to use it in the early turns to boost your creatures.

But that being said more mana is always good, as long as the card you’re exiling to pay for it doesn’t outvalue what you’re summoning.

Streets of New Capenna will be available on April 29th, and Buy Your Silence will be available in Draft and Set Boosters, so make sure to pick one up if you wanna turn some underlings into Treasure.
