Bethesda brought fresh content to the Xbox Games Showcase, showing new trailers for two of their popular online games. The company shared details about recent updates to The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76, giving players a look at what’s new in both games.
The Elder Scrolls Online Gets New Story Content
ZeniMax Online Studios showed off a new gameplay trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online: Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1. The trailer highlights how players can experience the fantasy world of Tamriel, whether they prefer playing alone or with friends in the ESO community.
The new content takes players to Western Solstice, a fresh area to explore. This update continues the main story that started when the game first launched over 10 years ago. Players on PC and Mac could start playing on June 2, while console players will get access on June 18.
The update also includes some helpful changes for all players. Update 46 brings a new Subclassing system that lets players mix different class abilities together. There’s also a Hero’s Return system designed to help players who haven’t played in a while get back into the game more easily, offering rewards to help them catch up.
Fallout 76 Adds Fishing to the Wasteland
Bethesda Game Studios premiered the launch trailer for Fallout 76’s newest update called “Gone Fission.” This update brings something unexpected to the post-apocalyptic world – fishing. The update launched on June 3 and is free for all players across all platforms.
The fishing system offers plenty of variety. Different types of bait, weather conditions, fishing rods, and locations will help players catch different kinds of fish. Players can try to catch common fish, rare Axolotls (with 12 different types that change each month), and special Local Legends.
The update also adds a new location called Fisherman’s Rest in the Mire area. Players can meet Linda-Lee, a giant hermit crab who lives on the dock and will trade legendary items for Fish Bits.
