ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has revealed the 2024 refresh of its Zephyrus and Strix gaming laptop lineup, featuring redesigns, display upgrades, and new AI acceleration technology built-in.
Previously unveiled during CES 2024, the ASUS Zephyrus and Strix gaming laptops have received a facelift and are now equipped with the latest Intel and Nvidia CPUs and GPUS with AI acceleration built-in.
This allows seamless use of the latest AI technology locally on the machine, enabling utilization of tools such as Nvidia DLSS and Frame generation, as well as dynamic backgrounds, automatic gaze correction for video conferences, and more.
ASUS Zephyrus
In 2024, the Zephyrus G16 both received a complete design overhaul, featuring an all-aluminum CNC-machined chassis with an all-new Slash lighting array across the lid that users can customize with customizable lighting patterns.
The machines will be available in either the traditional Eclipse Gray or the new Platinum White color option with a premium matte finish.
The speakers are also overhauled and are now 25% larger than the previous generation with a 47% volume increase and bass response down to 100 Hz for more immersive audio experiences.
The Zephyrs G16 weighs about 1.85 kg at 1.49 cm thick, and this year’s model will come with larger individual keycaps and touchpad, for better typing and scrolling experience.

ROG Strix
This year will also mark the introduction of the first 18-inch ROG Nebula HDR Display, which will be featured in the 2024 Strix SCAR 16 and 18, with both models offering upgraded Mini LED panels that boast over 2,000 discrete dimming zones and 1,100 nits of peak brightness.
The increased density coupled with the ROG Nebula HDR Engine is noted to minimize blooming and haloing, making the Strix SCAR 16 and 18 vivid in display.
While the ROG Nebula HDR panels are exclusive to the Strix SCAR line, all the displays available in the 2024 Strix family offer a 2.5K 240 Hz refresh rate panel with a less than 3 ms gray-to-gray response time.
Moreover, the panels will have an extra tall 16:10 aspect ratio and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
