ASUS Republic of Gamers Malaysia has introduced a new series of handhelds called the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. These devices have improved ergonomics and focus on providing a great user experience for gamers.
Developed with Xbox, they combine features of both Xbox and PC gaming. Shawn Yen from ASUS mentioned that this partnership with Microsoft helped create a powerful new device. The ROG Xbox Ally includes an AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor for efficiency, while the Ally X features the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor for better gaming. Both models will launch in the holidays in 2025.

All-Around Comfort
The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X have a new design focused on comfort, making handheld gaming more enjoyable. They incorporate feedback from previous models to provide a better grip, inspired by Xbox. The palm rest has been redesigned with texturing patterns for better stability during gameplay. The ROG Xbox Ally X also includes impulse triggers that enhance haptics in compatible games, allowing for a more immersive experience. Overall, these handheld devices offer the best comfort and immersion ROG has created to date.

High Quality Software Experience
The ROG Armoury Crate Special Edition software improved the original Ally’s usability, while ROG and Xbox aimed to enhance handheld gaming on Windows 11. Roanne Sones from Xbox stated they wanted to provide a true Xbox experience in a handheld device, which they achieved with the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X. When players turn on the device, they see a full-screen Xbox interface optimized for the ROG Xbox Ally. It offers easy navigation, quick access to settings, and customization options. This series combines Xbox power, ROG quality, and Windows versatility in one device, while still allowing access to other games and mods.

Efficient and High Performance
The ROG Xbox Ally X is a handheld gaming device featuring the powerful AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor, designed to run demanding AAA games smoothly. It offers next-gen performance thanks to software improvements from the new Xbox experience. Jack Huynh from AMD highlighted the importance of battery life for handheld devices; the Ryzen Z2 series enhances efficiency while providing strong performance in modern games.
The ROG Xbox Ally delivers console-level performance with the AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor, while its design ensures better battery life with a 60Wh battery. The Ally X boosts performance further for improved graphics and higher framerates. Both devices utilize AMD’s latest software for graphics enhancements and better framerates. Additionally, the Ally X includes a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for future AI features.

The ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will launch this holiday in several countries including Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, and the United States. Availability will expand to other markets where ROG Ally products are currently sold.
