Tango Gameworks has officially reopened its studio following its closure by Xbox and subsequent acquisition by KRAFTON. The company is now actively hiring for its next project – an unannounced action game.

On its newly launched website, Tango Gameworks Inc. shared an update:
It took a while, but the official office for Tango Gameworks, Inc. is now open. Our hybrid work setup now has a physical space to match! These things take time, but our Tokyo office is back in operation as we fill it with project memorabilia and start decorating to reflect our new brand identity. – Tango Gameworks Inc.
The studio is currently recruiting for a range of roles, including senior application programmer, user interface programmer, IT support, facilities manager, and more. The upcoming action game will be developed using Unreal Engine and is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While details remain scarce, speculation suggests the game may be Hi-Fi Rush 2 – a sequel that had reportedly entered development even before KRAFTON’s acquisition.

Maria Park, KRAFTON’s Head of Corporate Development, previously hinted at the sequel, saying that some of the feedback on Hi-Fi Rush was that it felt like players were just moving through factories. Now, the team wants to deliver a more open-ended experience. It might not be fully open world, but it will offer a more dynamic environment. The rhythm-action elements will also be enhanced with more advanced tech to improve synchronization.
Tango Gameworks’ 2023 rhythm-based action game Hi-Fi Rush is available to play on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
