SSSS.DYNAZENON Release Date Announced

Studio TRIGGER have announced the release date for SSSS.DynaZenon, the spin-off set in the SSSS.Gridman universe.

According to their official Twitter, the release date for SSSS.Dynazenon has been set for April 2nd, making it part of the Spring anime lineup alongside other anime like Way of the Househusband. It was previously announced that it would release in April, so this announcement was just more confirmation on a specific date.

While it will be airing on various channels in Japan, they also announced it would be released via “distribution sites”, meaning it’d be available to view online legally.

Sadly, this announcement wasn’t followed with any new promotional videos, after the last announcement had already shown off most of the main cast.

Studio TRIGGER has been building up hype for their upcoming project with a rebroadcast of SSSS.Gridman, letting fans relive the love letter to Tokusatsu. The anime was quite popular in Japan after it launched, with many of the characters still getting cross-promotional appearances with various Japanese brands.

SSSS.DYNAZENON , despite sharing the same naming conventions with Gridman doesn’t appear to be a direct sequel to the anime, instead being more like a successor in the same vein as its predecessor. For the most part they haven’t shown any returning characters, though it’s not unlike Studio TRIGGER to pull a twist on us at the last minute.
