Square Enix has unveiled KILLER INN, a new multiplayer murder mystery action game that combines social deduction with intense survival gameplay. The announcement came during the Summer Game Fest Live Showcase, with the closed beta test now available for sign-ups on Steam.
KILLER INN brings together 24 players in a deadly game set inside a mysterious castle. Players are invited by a shadowy group called Astra to compete for massive riches, but there’s a deadly twist. Each player gets secretly assigned one of two roles: Wolves, who must hunt and kill other players, or Lambs, who need to survive and either fight back or escape the castle.

The game mixes murder mystery elements with action gameplay. Instead of just talking and voting like traditional social deduction games, KILLER INN lets players physically fight, use weapons, and gather clues to figure out who the killers are.
Players can win in different ways. Wolves need to eliminate all the Lambs, while Lambs can either kill all the Wolves or escape the castle by finding keys and raising anchors at the harbor gate. The castle is filled with various items including guns, melee weapons, traps, poison, armor, and gas masks that players can use based on their preferred strategy.

Tactic Studios, the development team behind KILLER INN, calls this their most ambitious project yet. They’re asking beta participants to provide honest feedback to help improve the game before its full release. Players interested in trying KILLER INN can sign up for the closed beta through the game’s Steam page. No official release date has been announced yet.
