Previews for Resident Evil Requiem, after its announcement during the Summer Game Fest 2025 have confirmed that the anticipated survival horror sequel will support both first-person and third-person view.
Resident Evil Requiem will feature Grace Ashcroft as its protagonist, an intelligence analyst for the FBI who is focused and insightful in deductive reasoning and analysis. Her mother’s death impacted her greatly, making her an introvert who immerses herself in work. She proceeds to head to the abandoned hotel alone to investigate this mysterious death.
Players will be able to switch freely between first and third-person views during gameplay, offering more flexibility in how players experience the game’s terrifying atmosphere.
Previous Resident Evil titles, such as Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 Remake, primarily used a third-person view. Resident Evil 7: biohazard shifted the series into first-person, which Resident Evil Village followed. Capcom later introduced a third-person option in Resident Evil Village through the Winter’s Expansion DLC.

The game will be released on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam, but players can now wishlist on Steam and the PlayStation Store.
