A new entry in the creature-collecting genre is on the horizon: Aniimo, a free-to-play, open-world action RPG, has been announced for Xbox Series X|S, PC and mobile platforms, with a release planned for sometime next year.
Pre-registrations are currently available on all platforms, as well as a Closed Beta Recruitment available now for players to join.
Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Aniimo is the debut title from Pawprint Studio, and it draws visual and thematic comparisons to titles like Palworld and DokeV. Set in the interactive and expansive open world of Idyll, the game blends exploration, adventure, and creature companionship in a vibrant and whimsical setting.
In Aniimo, players take on the role of Pathfinders, tasked with collecting, evolving, and twining with magical creatures known as Aniimo. According to the developers, twining refers to the fusion of player and creature, unlocking enhanced abilities, shifting perspectives, and introducing new and unique ways to play.

Jovi Zhang, Executive Producer at Pawprint Studio, expressed the team’s long-standing aspiration to create a game that fulfills the dreams of players everywhere. Rather than waiting for such a game to appear, the team chose to bring their vision to life themselves.
Zhang also noted that the development process continues to reveal more about the Aniimo creatures – their personalities, relationships, stories, and the world they inhabit. With the world of Aniimo now ready to explore, the team is eager to welcome players into the experience.

An extended trailer has been revealed in CN, previewing ‘creature-collecting’ gameplay and more features that will be available in-game.
