Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Adds Versusia and Features in Latest Update

On August 20, 2024, Cygames released Version 1.50 for Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising (GBVSR), bringing a new playable character Versusia to the fighting game. The update, available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam, introduces a new playable character and several gameplay enhancements.

The highlight of the Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising update is the addition of Versusia as a downloadable character, Versusia is portrayed as a powerful entity with a mission to reset a world plagued by distortions. In addition, the character is available as part of a DLC pack priced at $7.99, which includes the playable character, additional cosmetic items, and includes the Unadulterated Amour costume for the character Belial, adding to the appeal for fans of this particular fighter.

Alongside the new character, the update launches Battle Pass Round 5. This latest battle pass offers players the opportunity to unlock various in-game items such as character illustrations, music, badges, and trophies. A new lobby avatar, God Rabbit Gigamax, is also obtainable through the battle pass. For those interested in additional content, a Premium Battle Pass is available for $7.99, featuring exclusive costumes and weapon skins.

The Version 1.50 update also introduces new gameplay elements:

1. Robomi: Epic Clash – A mini-game playable in online lobbies, testing players’ reflexes.
2. New Grand Bruise! mode – A competitive mode where players defeat slimes to earn points.
3. Grand Master Versus Rank – A new high-level ranking for competitive play.
4. Network quality indicator (RTT) for online lobby matches.

Additionally, the update includes balance adjustments for all characters in the roster, aiming to refine the overall gameplay experience. Cygames has also announced the availability of new merchandise through their online store, Cystore, including items previously exclusive to their Evo 2024 booth.
